The 2017 MacBook Air and iPad Mini 4 are added to Apple's list of outdated products.

Older Apple products are still eligible for hardware repairs, subject to the availability of replacement parts.

According to MacRumors, Apple has officially listed the 13-inch MacBook Air (2017) as "obsolete." This means the device is only eligible for repair at Apple Stores and authorized Apple service providers, provided parts are available.

The MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017) was the last model before Apple redesigned this line of thin and light laptops and equipped it with a Retina display in 2018.

Additionally, Apple has added all configurations of the iPad mini 4 and Apple TV HD (32GB) to its list of "obsolete" products. This means these devices are no longer eligible for repair from the company.

The iPad mini 4 was released in 2015 and discontinued in 2019, while the Apple TV HD was first released in 2015 and discontinued in October 2022, when the third-generation Apple TV 4K was launched. However, only Apple TV HD devices with 32GB of storage are considered obsolete.

According to Apple's policy, a device is considered "obsolete" seven years after the company stops distributing the product. Once placed on this list, the device will no longer be eligible for repair at Apple or authorized service providers, except for MacBook battery replacements within a 10-year warranty period.
